If you wouldn’t call yourself a ‘runner’, training for your first 5K is one of the best decisions you can make to improve your overall health.
But there are challenges with getting into running that everyone experiences: knee pain, uncertainty with what to do, no one to run with, no idea how to actually run, etc.
If you’ve struggled getting into running in the past for whatever reason, getting some assistance can make the difference between building a lifelong habit and succumbing to stagnation and just doing what you’ve always done.
This year can be different for you
The weather is warming up and I can hear the birds chirping outside. Spring is around the corner. Which means that the Chicagoland running season is about to kick up. Don’t miss it.
There are a few really great resources for you to tap into to make running a part of your 2025 (and maybe the rest of your life)
The video I posted on my YouTube channel is a candid conversation between my wife and I. She’s had some trouble with knee pain whenever she runs. Which is an extremely common problem amongst non-runners who are trying to get into running
I explain to her why that’s happening and what she/we can do about it. I figured the conversation would be helpful to share with others so I posted it online.
At the end I speak more about how the ERC 0-5K program is a great option for her or anyone who is a ‘non-runner’ who has experienced knee pain when trying to get into running.
The problem is almost always related to load management and the 0-5K program directly addresses that issue.
Make this year the year you get into running and improve your health! The ERC 0-5K program is free and able to gently build you up and ends with a nice early summer race in June.
Your best is yet to come!
