Why is it common for runners to NOT work on improving their running technique?
Baseball players work on improving their ability to swing and throw. Soccer players practice kicking and passing the ball. Basketball players practice their free throws. etc.
Why is it that most runners don’t worry about their technique and just try to run more and run faster?
These questions float around in my mind often and I unfortunately don’t have any answers for why it’s not common for runners to improve their technique. My suspicion is that most people don’t even know that their running technique is something that can be developed.
In my clinical care of injured runners, I see the same few mistakes over and over again. Simple things that need minor adjustments to make a big impact.

I believe that if this information was simply more well known and shared to runners new and old, more people would be able to enjoy running for longer
That’s why I’m hosting a free How to Run Workshop at Blink Fitness in Evanston on Saturday April 12th starting at 11:00 AM
At this workshop, I’ll guide everyone through the foundational components of good running technique. It won’t be overly complicated with specific details and things that’ll make you overthink every component of your run. But it will teach you some things that maybe you haven’t heard before or thought about.
After the workshop, you’ll immediately be able to take what you learned and apply it to your next run and every run thereafter.
Your best is yet to come!
